  • Intake and Assessment

    Each new client registers online (CLICK HERE to register online now) or in our office and is scheduled for an initial intake and assessment. This allows the therapist to review information, explain the process, ask and answer questions, and determine a treatment plan that meets your individual needs. All groups require initial intake and assessment visit prior to participation. If you have questions or concerns, this is a great time to ask your therapist. We recommend making a list of your questions and concerns to bring to your intake appointment.

  • Payment & Insurance

    At this time, Regal Oak Counseling accepts BlueCrossBlueShield, Aetna, Magellan, MHN, Anthem, Medicaid, Aetna Better Health, Amerigroup, E4Health, Vista360, Cigna, Beacon Health Strategies, Beacon Health Options (formerly Value Options), American Behavioral, United Healthcare, and several EAP programs. The insurance accepted varies by counselor. If you do not see your insurance plan here, or are not sure of your counselor accepts your insurance plan, you can contact your insurance provider at the phone number on the back of your insurance card to confirm we are an in-network provider for your plan. Keep in mind we can provide out-of-network services. We also accept private pay clients. 

    We are unable to tell you whether or not your office visit is subject to a copay or deductible until we verify benefits at your first visit. If you prefer to know that information before scheduling, please call your insurance provider at the member services number on the back of your insurance card to request that information. All co-pays, deductibles, amounts due for out-of-network services, and private pay charges are due in full at the time of service*. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, HSA cards, and cash. For out-of-network claims, we are happy to submit your claim electronically or provide you with the necessary forms to submit to your insurance company for any reimbursement for which you may be eligible*. We also offer special rates for Veterans, Military Personnel, Public Service Personnel/First Responders, and Seniors who are not using insurance.

    *If you prefer to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider, upon receiving your payment we are happy to provide you with the forms/receipt you may file with your insurance company for reimbursement. Your insurance company will reimburse you directly for any covered portion after all deductibles and requirements have been met based on your specific mental health benefits. We are consistently adding insurance carriers and will post the insurance acceptances as we receive them. If you choose to use insurance benefits for a provider we accept, we are happy to help. However, you should know that filing any kind of claim with your insurance company requires a mental health diagnosis. You should also know that web and phone counseling (tele-health) are covered by some insurance policies, but not all.

  • Fees

    Price range for individual, couples, and family in-office sessions is $50-$145, depending on your insurance plan and/or whether you are seeing a graduate intern, LPC-Intern, or LPC counselor. Fees for peak performance sessions begin at $145 and are not covered by insurance.

    Fee for cancellation <24 hours is $35. Fees for no call/no show are the full session rate. These fees are not covered by insurance.

    We offer discounts for Seniors, Veterans, Military, and Public Service Personnel

    If you are a First Responder and are seeking counseling and support related to an event that occurred in the line of duty, please contact our office for a FRESCI (First Responder Event Support and Counseling Initiative) appointment at no charge. 

    Group fees vary and are available upon request

  • Cancellation Policy

    We value your time and do our very best to prevent schedule delays and cancellations. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, we ask that you notify our office a minimum of 24 hours in advance so the appointment time may be made available to others. Same-day cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) are charged $35, and no call/no show appointments are charged full appointment rate, emergencies not withstanding. If you have unusual circumstances (Military, Public Service, etc) please let us know at the time of registration.
